Michel-Pierre Coll received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2016 at Université Laval. In 2016 – 2019, he held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Oxford where he studied socio-emotional perception in different psychiatric conditions. In 2019 – 2021, he was a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University where he studied the modulation of pain through experience and conducted research on learning using neuroimaging and innovative analysis techniques, including machine learning and computational modeling.

His current research program strives to 1) apply artificial intelligence techniques to measure perceived pain from brain activity and 2) use computational modeling and machine learning to understand how learning processes can contribute to the modulation and chronicization of pain.
